Update: Investigation underway after man assaulted in Kirkby

We have charged a man following an incident on Roughwood Drive in Kirkby on Thursday 2nd June in which a man was assaulted and suffered a head injury.

Michael Walker, 34, of Bigdale Drive, Kirkby, has been charged with possession of a bladed article and affray and bailed to appear in court on 19th July.

A 49 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson and assisting an offender and released under investigation.

A 37 year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and released on bail.

The injured man has been released from hospital.

Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
