A man has been arrested following reports of a sexual assault in Garston on Thursday 17 March.
At around 8.10pm officers were called to a report that a female was sexually assaulted in the area of St Mary’s Road.
The victim is being supported by specially trained officers.
This morning (Sunday 20 March), a 21-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.
He is still in custody while enquiries continue into the circumstances of the incident.
Detective Inspector Tony Roberts said: “I would like to thank members of the public who reported any information to us so and assisted with our investigation.
“Enquiries into this incident are still ongoing and anyone with further information is asked to contact police.”
