Man from Wirral issued with 2 year Criminal Behaviour Order

A 41-year-old man from Wirral has been issued with a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order that prevents him from entering  parts of Moreton after several incidents of violent behaviour towards staff and harassment of women in the area.

Martin Thomas is banned from entering the area of Moreton marked red in the map and being on any Merseyrail train, station or footbridge.

The order will run until 13 March 2024 and was issued to Thomas at Wirral Magistrates Court this week when he pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and a Section 5 public order offence.

“Inspector Al McKeon, Community Policing Inspector in Wirral said: “Thanks to our work with British Transport Police a man who caused great distress and fear across our community can no longer enter parts of Moreton and Merseyrail property.

“I’d like to thank our officers and those from British Transport Police who were involved in successfully detaining Thomas.

“We hope this order ensures the safety of our residents and anyone who works in this area from Thomas’s violent behaviour.

“The order is an extremely effective tool, and our successful application for the CBO against Thomas in this case shows our commitment to robustly deal with any offenders who have a negative impact on the community.

“Should Thomas breach the conditions of this order, he will be re- arrested, returned to court and jailed.”
