Detectives investigating an assault in Sutton this morning, Monday 9 May, have issued images of two men they wish to speak to in connection with their enquiries.
At around 12.20am, officers received a report of a man with a head injury in the car park of Sutton Cricket Club on New Street.
Emergency services attended and found evidence of blood on the ground, but were unable to locate the injured male.
CCTV and witness enquiries by officers so far suggest that a man was assaulted by another man in the car park.
It was reported that the suspect made off on foot and the victim was taken away in a grey Volvo car.
Enquiries remain ongoing to locate the victim and the suspect, including checks of local hospitals, and detectives have issued CCTV images of two men who they wish to speak to.
Detective Inspector Barbara Hebden said: “This appears to have been a shocking assault and we are working to establish the full circumstances of the incident through CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries.
“We think the men pictured may hold vital information so I would encourage them, or anyone who recognises them, to come forward as soon as possible.
“Similarly if you were in the Sutton area in the early hours of this morning and saw anything or anyone suspicious then please let us know. All information you hold could be vital to our enquiries.
“Whether you let us know directly, or anonymously, through Crimestoppers, please come forward and we will take action.”
