Police remain in the Huyton area today following the murder of 43-year-old Lorraine Cullen yesterday, Wednesday 11 May.
Lorraine’s body was found in a property on Radway Road at around 8.30am. Paramedics attended and she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A Home Office Post Mortem has taken place and confirmed the cause of her death as multiple stab wounds.
The 21-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of her murder was questioned by police and has now been detained under the Mental Health Act. Police are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
Officers remain at scenes on Radway Road and York Road today, Thursday 12 May, while forensic enquiries continue.
Detective Chief Inspector Allison Woods said: “Members of Lorraine’s family are being supported by specialist officers following the tragic incident on Radway Road yesterday and we offer our sincere condolences.
“I’d like to thank the local community for their patience while our officers remain at scenes on Radway Road and York Road as we carry out vital forensic enquiries.
“A man has been detained under the Mental Health Act following Lorraine’s murder and, while we aren’t currently looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, our enquires remain ongoing. If anyone witnessed anything yesterday morning and hasn’t already come forward then please do get in touch with us.
“I’d also ask that anyone with information only provides it via our channels, or through Crimestoppers, and doesn’t comment on social media platforms as this can jeopardise our investigation. Thank you.”
