A man was charged with robbery, assault and theft yesterday, Monday 16 May, following an incident in Liverpool city centre last month.
On the evening of 13 April, it was reported that a 17-year-old male and his girlfriend were walking along Chapel Street when a man approached the male and struck him in the face.
The victim was chased to Mercure Hotel where he was assaulted again. The alleged offender left the scene soon after the incident and took the victim’s coat and other items with him.
The victim suffered a broken jaw and was taken to hospital to receive treatment. He was left very distressed and in great pain.
Peter Clark McHale, 36 years of Union Street in Liverpool city centre was arrested and charged with Section 18 assault, robbery and theft. He has been remanded in custody.
He will appear at Liverpool Crown Court at a later date.
