We are appealing for information following a serious assault in Dovecot that left a man with a fractured jaw.
At around 12.40am on Sunday 18th September, it was reported that the victim was driving along East Prescot Road when his left wing mirror was struck by a passing motorbike.
After pulling over outside a convenience store near Back Dovecot Place to fix the wing mirror, it was reported that the man was assaulted by the motorbike rider as well as two other males who were stood outside the store.
The victim was struck to the head with a weapon and sustained a fractured jaw as well as other facial injuries and bruises to his body. He was taken to hospital to receive treatment to his injuries.
Since the attack, officers have carried out an extensive investigation in the area and analysed CCTV footage to identify anyone who could be responsible.
It was reported that the motorbike rider was wearing a helmet and the other two males were wearing balaclavas.
Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: “This was an unprovoked and violent attack that left a man with a fractured jaw. Violence like this will never be tolerated on the streets of Merseyside.
“While some weeks have passed since the incident on Sunday 18th September, we are still determined to find those responsible for this attack.
“If you were near the area at the time of the assault and have any dashcam or CCTV footage, we would like to hear from you as soon as possible.”
