CCTV Appeal after man assaulted in Liverpool

Detectives have issued images of a man and woman who may have information that could assist enquiries after an assault in Liverpool that left a man with several injuries to his face.
 
At around 4.30am on Sunday 9 October officers were called to a report that a man in his 20s was assaulted by two men on Skelhorne Street.
 
The victim was assaulted by two men who hit him with a metal cannister whilst he was waiting for a taxi on Skelhorne Street in junction with Bolton Avenue.
 
The victim went to hospital after he sustained several injuries and cuts to his face.
 
Since the attack officers have carried out an extensive investigation in the area and analysed CCTV footage to identify anyone who could be responsible.

Detectives have now issued images of two men they believe could assist with their enquiries.
 
Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: “This was a nasty unprovoked attack that has left a man with significant bruising and injuries to his face.  
 
“We think the men and the woman who is also pictured with them may have vital information to help our enquiries so if you know them, please come forward.
 
“This incident happened at the weekend in a busy part of Liverpool near Lime Street Station where people who were leaving the city would have seen the attack. If you recognise these people, or these images remind you of the attack that happened at around 4.30am on Sunday 9 October on Skelhorne Street please contact police.”
