We have arrested a man and seized suspected cannabis following an incident in South Liverpool yesterday, Sunday 27 November.
At around 5.30pm, officers sighted a VW Golf, which contravened a red light on Hillfoot Avenue. Officers caused the vehicle to stop and the driver ran off towards Woolton Road, reportedly discarding an item. He was detained following a short foot pursuit. A large amount of cannabis (pictured) was found discarded nearby.
A 33-year-old man from Woolton was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis; fail to stop; and contravening a stop sign, and was taken into custody for questioning.
He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
