Detectives have arrested and charged a man with burglary of two banks in Huyton.
The first burglary took place at around 2.35am on Tuesday 8 November where it was reported that Lloyds Bank on Sherborne Square was broken in to and a quantity of cash was taken.
A week later on Tuesday 15 November, it was reported that at around 4am a man had gained entry into Halifax Bank on Derby Street.
Officers entered the premises and found the suspect carrying several items that were believed to be stolen.
Joseph Andrew Thomson, 46 years, of St Chads Drive, Kirkby, has been charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of going equipped for theft and theft from motor vehicle.
Thompson remains in custody and appeared at Wirral Magistrates Remand Court today, Wednesday 16 November.
