Man jailed for drugs supply in south Sefton

We are welcoming the sentencing of a man who has been jailed for three years and five months for drugs supply into the south Sefton area.

James Byott, 28, of Eric Street, Widnes, was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday 24^th November.

Byott was arrested in September following a stop and search of a vehicle on Walton Hall Avenue after officers had suspected it had been involved in drugs transactions.

Byott was later charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin, concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply a controlled Class A drug.

It is believed that Byott was supplying drugs into the south Sefton area.

Sefton Community Policing Sergeant Kris Allinson said: “This latest sentencing joins a long line of other convictions that we have accomplished which highlights our success in arresting and convicting people on drugs offences.

“We will continue to keep this momentum going and pursue offenders who think they can plague our communities with drugs.

“I would urge anyone who has any information about people they suspect are blighting their neighbourhood by supplying or selling drugs to contact us so we can take action.”
