We are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Kirkby Town Centre on Wednesday 16 November that has left a teenage boy with serious injuries.
At around 3pm, we received reports of a collision involving a taxi and a 15-year-old cyclist on St Chads Drive.
The driver of the vehicle, which is described as a black Hackney taxi, left the scene after the incident.
The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his leg and is in a stable condition.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision and anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information or dash camera footage is asked to contact Police.
Inspector Gavin Dixon said "We are keen to trace the driver of the vehicle to assist our enquiries and would also ask anyone who witnessed the incident to please get in touch.
“Likewise, if you have any dashcam footage or CCTV footage from the surrounding area or on St Chads Drive that may help us identify the vehicle involved, please let us know."
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to contact @MerPolCC, 101 quoting reference 22000843047 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
