
Officers from our Roads Policing Unit are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision in Bootle this evening (Wednesday, 26 October 2022).
At around 6.50pm, emergency services were called to Derby Road near to the junction with Bankfield Street following a road traffic collision involving a blue Ford Grand C-Max car and a man, believed to be in his forties.
The pedestrian, who has suffered serious a serious leg injury, has been taken to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting officers.
Witness and CCTV enquiries remain ongoing. Derby Road at the junction of Bankfield Street has been closed while examinations are carried out at the scene. Diversions are in place and drivers are asked to avoid the area and take alternative routes.
