A man has been arrested after a police pursuit of a suspected stolen motorbike in Liverpool yesterday evening, 12 September.
At around 2.30am officers were on patrol along Dingle Lane in Dingle when they noticed a motorbike pull out in front of a police vehicle with two people on board. The occupants failed to stop and drove off at speed.
Officers assisted by National Police Air Service (NPAS) undertook a search of the area. During the pursuit the motorbike travelled at speed through traffic, narrowly missing cars and had mounted the pavement with no consideration for public safety.
This ended on Elmar Road where the motorbike was abandoned and the two suspects made off.
An 18-year-old man from Toxteth was found hiding in a garden shed and was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, theft of a motor vehicle and riding without valid driving licence and insurance.
He remains in police custody.
