We are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in Haydock yesterday, Monday 10 April.
It was reported that at around 3.20pm three friends were at the rear of shops on King George V Playing Field when they were approached by a group of teenagers aged 14 and 15 years, one pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the men.
The victim in his 20s suffered stab wounds to his body which are not life threatening.
An investigation is underway and CCTV and forensic enquiries are being carried out in the local area.
Detective Chief Inspector John Fitzgerald said: “Enquiries are in the early stages to establish what has taken place.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of the park at that time and seen or heard anything to come forward and speak to us.
“I would appeal for people in the area to check your CCTV, doorbell and dashcam to see if it has captured any footage as it may help with the investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 23000303785.
