We are continuing to appeal for information following a serious road traffic collision involving a bus and a pedestrian in St Helens of the evening of Thursday 30th March.
At around 11.05pm, emergency services were called to the junction of Corporation Street and Parr Street to reports of a bus having been in collision with a pedestrian.
An 18-year-old man suffered serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
The bus driver stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
We are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation.
We are also appealing for two passengers who were on the bus – an Arriva service number 31 from Parr to St Helens town centre - to come forward as they may have information which is vital to our investigation.
Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson from the Force’s Matrix Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of this collision, who may have seen the incident or events leading up to the collision to please contact with us.
“I am particularly keen to speak to the two passengers who were on that bus at around 11.05pm last Thursday night.
“In addition we appeal to anyone with dashcam, or who lives locally with CCTV or smart doorbell footage to get in touch. Every piece information is vitally important to our investigation to establish what happened.”
Witnesses are asked to contact our Matrix Serious Collision Investigation Unit on (0151) 777 5747, email [email protected], or DM @MerPolCC on Twitter quoting reference 23000270689.
