Detectives have issued a CCTV image of a man who may have information that could assist enquiries following an assault outside a pub in Kirkby.
Just before 9.10pm on Thursday 23 March it was reported that a man was kicked and punched several times by another man outside a pub on Bewley Drive.
The suspect then ran away from the pub when others came outside.
The victim suffered cuts and bruises and was left very distressed by the attack.
Since the assault extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted, and detectives have issued a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak who could assist in their investigation.
Detective Inspector Alan Wood said: “This was a violent attack on a man who could have been left with serious injuries and we are working to find whoever was responsible and bring them to justice.
“I am appealing to the man shown in this CCTV footage, or anyone who recognises him to come forward as we believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.
“Similarly, if you saw the assault or the men involved in this incident on Thursday evening please contact police as soon as possible.
“If you have any photos taken on your mobile of the incident or CCTV footage from the night of Thursday 23rd March then do let us know as any information you hold could support our enquiries.”
