A man has been arrested following a report of an assault at a primary school in Wavertree on Thursday 30 March.
At around 3.35pm it was reported that a man was behaving aggressively towards a woman outside Mosspits Lane Primary School when another man intervened and he was assaulted, causing bruising to the victim.
A 45-year-old man from Wavertree was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating, intentional strangulation, common assault and assault by beating of an emergency worker. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said: “Such violence will not be tolerated especially in a school environment.
“This behaviour should not take place on school premises where young children are in the vicinity to witness such conduct, but a space where they should feel safe.”
