Appeal following knifepoint robbery of bike in Wirral

We are appealing for information after a knifepoint robbery in Storeton Woods, in Wirral, on Saturday 26 August.

At around 2.50pm it was reported that a 13-year-old boy had his bike (pictured above and below) taken by two males wearing balaclavas and armed with a knife.

The victim was approached by the two males, one who was on a pedal bike and the other on foot, before they produced a knife and took his Trek Marlin mountain bike.

The two males then left the area towards an exit barrier on Rest Hill Road. The victim was unharmed but left distressed by the incident.

The first suspect, who was riding a pedal bike, is described as having a large build and was wearing glasses, a hooded top, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers

The second suspect had a smaller build and was also wearing all black clothing.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone who has any information is asked to come forward.

Detective Inspector Andrew Schofield said: “This would have been extremely distressing for the young teenager and an investigation is underway to find those responsible.

“We are determined to get knives off our streets and reducing knife crime in Merseyside is a priority for our force all year round.

“If you recognise the bike from the pictures, please let us know as it could help our enquiries.

“If you were in Storeton Woods or the nearby area around the time of the incident, please get in touch if you saw anything suspicious.”
