A man has been rearrested on suspicion of several business burglaries in Southport.
Just before 3.50am on Friday 18 August offices received a report of two burglaries at restaurants on Lord Street and Stanley Street.
Officers found and arrested two men aged 27 and 46 from Southport on suspicion of burglary later that morning.
They were taken to a police station in Merseyside where they were later released under investigation.
A 27-year-old man from Southport has now been rearrested on suspicion of several business burglaries after officers detained him at an address in the area. He currently remains in police custody.
Inspector Graham Fisher said: “Thanks to the actions of our officers an arrest has been made following several burglaries from businesses in the area.
“The burglary of business premises is not a victimless crime – it can impact on people’s livelihoods, their income and can of course have an emotional effect on victims.
“Although an arrest has been made our investigations are still ongoing in Southport.
“Information from the public about any burglaries in the area is a vital part of our efforts to prevent these crimes in our neighbourhood. If you have any CCTV footage of these recent incidents or saw what happened please contact us.”
