A man has been charged with drugs and money laundering offences after a significant amount of cash and drugs were seized from a property in Huyton.
Thomas Begg, 19, of Haslemere, Whiston, has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs and possessing criminal property. He appeared at Liverpool Youth Magistrate’s Court on Monday 28 August and was remanded to next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday 25 September.
On Friday 25 August, officers on patrol in the Huyton area tried to stop a man who was acting suspiciously.
After a brief foot pursuit, the man was detained and a subsequent search of a nearby address found 25kg of suspected cannabis, a number of wraps of cocaine and heroin, around £100,000 in cash and suspected ammunition.
The investigation involves Operation Medusa as part of ongoing efforts to tackle County Lines drug dealing and child criminal exploitation.
If you have concerns about drug dealing in your area you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, call Merseyside Police on 101 or DM @MerpolCC. Always contact 999 if a crime is in progress.
