Two men and one woman have been charged with drug supply offences following warrants in Knowsley and Liverpool.
On Monday 7 August, two warrants were executed at addresses in Knowsley and Liverpool by officers from Merseyside’s Project Medusa county lines team.
The warrants were conducted in relation to an investigation into the supply of Class A drugs by an organised crime group operating the ‘Scouse J’ county line between Liverpool and Weymouth, Dorset since March 2023, which has now been closed.
Three people were arrested following the warrants and have since been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (heroin and crack cocaine).
Michael Quinn, aged 35, and Georgia Cassidy, aged 29, both of Haleforest Grove in Knowsley, have been charged with conspiracy to supply a Class A drug (heroin and crack cocaine).
John Dawson, aged 36, of Fitzgerald Road in Liverpool, has been charged with conspiracy to supply a Class A drug (heroin and crack cocaine).
All three were remanded into custody.
Quinn appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 8 August and was further remanded into custody. He is due to next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday 5 September.
Cassidy appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court today and is due to next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday 5 September.
Dawson appeared at Wirral Magistrates Court today and has been given conditional bail. He is due to next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday 5 September.
Detective Sergeant Peter Sloan from Merseyside Police said: “As a force we are committed to closing County Lines and targeting those who cowardly exploit vulnerable people in our communities.
“These charges are testament to the ongoing work we are doing to remove both the criminal networks and the drugs they supply and distribute from our streets and into other parts of the UK. This should act as a stark warning to county lines offenders – you will be caught and be put before the courts.”
Since 2019, Merseyside’s Project Medusa officers – who are recognised nationally as a leading force in tackling county lines – have closed more than 1,000 county lines; arrested more than 2,200 people for offences including drug supply, firearms and money laundering; and identified 1,186 children and vulnerable adults who have been referred to safeguarding services.
