Road closures have been put in place on from the junction of Long Lane to the Black Bull public house on Warbreck Moor following a serious injury road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
The incident happened just after 7.30pm when a silver Skoda Superb car was in collision with a 20-year-old man on Warbreck Moor near to the Black Bull public house.
The pedestrian has sustained serious injuries and he has been taken to hospital where his condition is described as serious.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting with the investigation.
Officers from the Roads Policing team carry out examinations at the scene and anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any dashcam footage which could help with inquiries is asked to contact the police.
