We are appealing for information following reports that three people sustained stab and slash wounds in Toxteth earlier today, Sunday 10 December.
At around 1pm, it was reported that two men and a woman, all aged in their 30s, had been attacked inside a property on Upper Warwick Street.
Emergency services attended and all three people have been taken to hospital by paramedics for treatment to serious injuries.
An investigation is now underway with a forensic examination of the scene and house to house enquiries to be carried out to establish what happened and to locate the person responsible.
A road closure is currently in place at the scene as officers explore CCTV opportunities in the area.
Chief Inspector Colin Dyer said: “We are in the very early stages of investigating this incident, but it appears to be a targeted attack and the suspect is known to the victims.
“This is a shocking incident that has left three people in hospital and we are determined to find the person responsible.
“We are appealing for anyone with information to please come forward to help with our investigation. If you witnessed this incident or have any CCTV or dashcam footage, please come forward as a matter of urgency.”
Chief Inspector Dyer added: “The local community will be concerned by this incident, but please be assured that we will be relentless in finding the person who carried out this attack.
