Detectives are continuing to investigate after two men sustained gunshot wounds to their legs in Everton on Wednesday 13 December.
At around 10.30pm an 18-year-old man self-presented at hospital with gunshot wound injuries to his legs.
CCTV footage established the man was in the area of Netherfield Road, next to Everton Park, when the incident occurred.
Armed patrols attended the area and found a 24-year-old man who also had gunshot wounds to his legs. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Officers later searched the area and found a machete sheath, four casings, a large amount of suspected Class A Drugs, and a burner phone which are being forensically examined.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul McVeigh said: “Since these two incidents we have made a total of 35 arrests after Section 60 Orders were enforced in Everton for 48 hours giving officers enhanced stop and search powers to stop individuals in the area and minimise serious violence.
“CCTV and forensic enquiries are currently being carried out and our officers remain in the area using mobile police stations as we continue to investigate what has taken place and prevent any further acts of violence in our community.
“If you were on Netherfield Road between 10pm-10.30pm on Wednesday 13 December or were working or driving in the area in a vehicle that may have they captured something please contact us.
“Similarly, we would ask anyone who thinks they saw or heard anything suspicious in that area to come forward.
“Merseyside Police is committed to tackling serious organised crime, and our officers remain relentless in our pursuit of those involved in gun crime.
