We are appealing for information on a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle in Garston on Friday 13th January.
It was reported that the collision occurred between 6.20pm and 6.40pm at the junction of Russell Road and Shrewsbury Road. The vehicle then drove off from the scene.
The pedestrian, a man in his 60’s, suffered a serious injury to his leg and bruising. He is awaiting surgery at hospital.
We are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV, doorbell and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation.
Officer in charge of the investigation, PC James Downey-Parkes said: “To leave the scene of any collision is a serious matter, and we’re keen to trace the vehicle to assist our enquiries and speak to any witnesses to this collision.
“The pedestrian was very shaken after the incident and suffered a serious leg injury which he is now waiting for surgery.
“The incident happened at a time where there would have been people around who may have witnessed the incident or seen a car driving erratically around that time, any information no matter how small could help the investigation.
“If you were passing the location and saw or captured the incident on CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage then please share this with us and we will take action.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident, has CCTV, dash camera footage or has any information which could assist the investigation, is asked to call the Matrix Roads Policing Unit on (0151) 777 5747 or contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or Merseyside Police Contact Centre on Facebook quoting reference 23000040763.
