We have charged a man in connection with two robberies of convenience stores in Southport.
It was reported that a robbery took place at a shop on Southbank Road on Sunday 12 February and a further robbery was reported at another store on Duke Street on Tuesday 14 February.
Marcus Jones, 32, of Portland Street, Southport, has been charged with two counts of robbery, possession of a bladed article and racially/religiously aggravated intentional harassment/alarm/distress through words/writing.
He appeared at Sefton Magistrates Court today (Wednesday 15 February) and remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday 15 March.
