We are appealing for information following a fail to stop road traffic collision between a pedestrian and a car in Walton earlier today (Tuesday 17 January).
At around 11.20am, we received a report that a black Mazda6 had collided with a woman in her 70s on Longmoor Lane, near its junction with Cedar Road.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and left the scene towards Rice Lane. The pedestrian was taken to hospital for assessment to her injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.
Sergeant Simon Duffy of Roads Policing Unit said: “We are in the early stages of investigating what happened and would appeal for anyone with information to get in touch.
"If you were in the area at the time and witnessed the collision, please let us know. In addition, we appeal to anyone with dashcam, or who lives locally with CCTV or smart doorbell footage, to get in touch.”
Witnesses are asked to contact our Matrix Serious Collision Investigation Unit on (0151) 777 5747, email [email protected], or DM @MerPolCC on Twitter quoting reference 23000049269.
