We are appealing for information following a reported stabbing at a house party in Norris Green on Sunday 30 July.
At around 12.50am we received a report of an altercation at a house on Townsend Avenue and a 26-year-old man had been stabbed in his arm and back, and a cut to his neck.
He was taken to hospital for treatment and now recovering at home from his injuries.
Two men reportedly fled the scene in a grey coloured Peugeot car, driven in the direction of the East Lancashire Road.
An investigation is underway with officers carrying out forensic, CCTV, house-to-house and witness enquiries.
Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: “Thankfully the victim sustained injuries which are not life threatening and is now recovering at home.
“We are continuing with enquiries into this incident, and I would appeal to those who we haven’t already spoken who were at the party to please contact us.
“I would also ask people who were in the area to check dashcam or CCTV footage for a grey Peugeot car which may be vital to the case.”
Detective Inspector Dillon added: “Reducing knife crime in Merseyside is a priority all year round.
“Our officers are committed in removing anyone who stores, carries and uses weapons through proactive use of stop and search powers, open land searches, warrants and education work alongside partners.”
Anyone with information is asked to call 101, DM @MerPolCC or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 23000690501.
