Detectives are appealing for information after a man was threatened by a group of teenagers in Bromborough with a knife and hammers.

At around 2.55pm on Friday 14 July we received a report that a group of three teenage boys approached a man inside his car at the McDonalds Drive Through in Croft Retail Park and threatened him with a knife and hammers.

The man reported the incident to police who spotted the suspects inside the retail park. As they were approached by police they ran away from the park and hid their weapons.

Police later recovered the weapons and arrested two 15-year-old boys from Rock Ferry and Oxton in the area on suspicion of affray and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

Both boys have been released on bail.

Officers are appealing for more information to find the outstanding suspect believed to be involved in the attack.

Detective Inspector David Sung said: “Although we have made two arrests our officers are still searching for a teenage boy who is believed to be involved in the attack last Friday at Bromborough Retail Park.

“This was a frightening attack for the victim who bravely contacted police straight after the incident that led to the arrests.

“If you were at the retail park last Friday afternoon and saw the incident or have any CCTV footage of the attack please contact police immediately.

“Information from the public is vital if we are to stop any young people carrying weapons in our community that causes violence on our streets.

“Such behaviour is reckless, unacceptable and can cause serious harm and we are committed to removing anyone who uses such weapons in our community.”
