A Litherland man has been charged with conspiracy to supply heroin, cocaine and cannabis using the Encrochat encrypted messaging platform.
Mark Murphy, 39 years, of Field Lane, Litherland, has been charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs (namely heroin and cocaine), class B drugs (namely cannabis and cannabis resin), as well as possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine).
Murphy was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Wirral Magistrates Court today, Friday 7 July.
The charge forms part of the Merseyside Police response to Operation Venetic: a national investigation into the use of encrypted mobile devices, commonly referred to as Encrochat.
