Man jailed for 4 years after supplying Class A drugs in Merseyside

A man has been jailed for four years after supplying Class A drugs in Merseyside.

 

Lethobo Sithole, aged 21, of Bridge Street, Birkenhead was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court today (Tuesday 18 July) for being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs – Crack Cocaine and Heroin.

 

The result is part of Project Medusa – an investigation into County Lines drugs supply in Merseyside.

 

At around 12.30pm on Thursday 19 January officers searched an address in Birkenhead in relation to a separate drug offence. Sithole was found at the address where officers seized a mobile phone he had that revealed he was involved in the supply and sale of controlled drugs.

 

Sithole was arrested on suspicion of drugs supply offences before being interviewed by Merseyside Police officers and receiving charges for being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs – Crack Cocaine and Heroin.

 

He was remanded into custody and today pleaded guilty to all offences.

 

Detective Inspector Gary Stratton said: "Sithole’s arrest was part of the proactive work we carry out under Project Medusa, an operation that works across force boundaries to ensure we take offenders off our streets.

 

“I hope his sentence shows how committed we are in removing anyone who is involved in organised crime and the supply of drugs in our communities which often destroys so many lives. 

 

“Our work to remove such criminals from our streets and stop anyone from being coerced into dealing drugs on behalf of these gangs continues on a daily basis. I would ask anyone who has information about this kind of activity to come forward so we can continue to take action.”
