Officers are continuing to appeal for information following a road traffic collision in Netherton where a 48-year-old man sadly lost his life.
At around 11.10pm on Wednesday 19 July, emergency services were called to Northern Perimeter Road to reports of a collision involving a red Vauxhall Astra and an orange Honda motorbike.
Vincent Lawrence who was driving the motorbike was treated by paramedics and sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Police arrested two men aged 25 and 22 from Netherton shortly after the collision. The 22-year-old man has been bailed pending further enquiries in relation to the incident. The other man has been released with no further action.
Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson from the MATRIX Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our investigation continues following the death of 48-year-old Vincent in a road traffic collision on Wednesday evening.
“His family are being supported by specially trained officers at this extremely difficult time and our thoughts are remain very much with them.
“I urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage, including information or footage prior to the collision, which will assist in the investigation to please get in touch. The road is now reopened, and I thank the local community for their patience whilst we dealt with the scene.”
