We have arrested two teenage boys following a stabbing in Caldy last night (Friday 16 June).
Just before 7.10pm last night officers received a report that a teenage boy had been stabbed on Cubbins Green, Melloncroft Drive West after he was assaulted by a group of boys.
The suspects left Cubbins Greens after the incident.
The victim was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his legs and arm where he remains in a stable condition.
CCTV footage and videos of the incident established that the victim was assaulted by three males, one who was carrying a knife.
Two boys aged 15 and 16 from Moreton and Liscard have been arrested on suspicion of assault. They have been taken to a police station in Merseyside and remain in custody.
Detectives are appealing for more information to find the outstanding suspect and increased police patrols remain in the area.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul McVeigh said: “Although we have made two arrests our officers are still searching for a teenage boy who was involved in the attack on a boy who suffered several stab wounds to his legs and arm.
“Officers who were at the scene last night saw up to a 100 youths in the area who could have seen the attack. If you were on Cubbins Green and saw the incident or have captured the attack on your phone please contact police immediately.
“Information from the public is vital if we are to stop any young people carrying knives in our community that causes violence on our streets. Such behaviour is reckless, unacceptable and destroys lives.
“Our officers remain in the area to reassure residents and are committed to removing anyone who stores, carries and uses weapons in our community through proactive use of stop and search powers, open land searches, warrants and education work alongside partners at schools in Wirral.”
