Five people were arrested in a day of action in Knowsley on Wednesday 14 June to target serious and organised crime, knife crime and the illegal use of uninsured and unlicensed vehicles.
Activity included the execution of warrants in Huyton and Prescot, pro-active policing of hotspot locations and increased patrols to reassure the community.
During the day, officers seized four vehicles and also carried out stop searches during which they found two drivers without insurance, one of whom also did not have a licence, and handed out a community resolution for drugs possession.
The five arrested were:
A 31-year-old man from Huyton, arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug with intent to supply and possession of criminal property, was taken to a police station on Merseyside for questioning and subsequently released on police bail pending further investigation.
A 21-year-old man from Huyton, arrested on suspicion of possessing class B drugs with intent to supply, was taken to a police station on Merseyside for questioning and subsequently released pending further investigation.
A 16-year-old male from Huyton, arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article, possession of cannabis, driving without a licence or insurance, was taken to a police station on Merseyside for questioning and subsequently released pending further investigation.
A 37-year-old man from Fazakerley, arrested for breaching a non-molestation order, was taken to a police station on Merseyside for questioning and subsequently released pending further investigation.
Officers also arrested 40-year-old Paul Allcock, of Edward Road, Prescot, who was wanted for a no bail warrant due to failing to appear at court and was subsequently charged and remanded to the next available court hearing.

Sergeant Adam Mills said: “This was a successful day of action which involved officers making a number of arrests in our ongoing efforts to reduce organised crime in Knowsley.
“Our officers working in EVOLVE neighbourhoods, which are those that have been identified as suffering most from organised crime groups, are committed to eradicating the pain and misery those criminals’ cause.
“We want to make it clear to those criminals that the life of crime they have chosen is not the profit-making option they thought it was.
“I can reassure the communities of Knowsley that the force will continue its fight against those involved in serious organised crime to make our communities safer.
“Anyone with information about crime in their area is urged to call us on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 so we can take action against those bringing misery to our communities.”
