Detectives are issuing CCTV images of a man who may have information following an assault in Liverpool City Centre in the early hours of yesterday morning, Monday 20 March.
At around 3.30am, a 19-year-old man was in Fitzgerald’s Bar in Slater Street when he was slashed across the face by a man with an unknown implement, believed to have been a bottle.
The victim sustained a serious facial injury which is being assessed. Extensive enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Constable Dave Gaskell said: “We think the man pictured may be able to assist our enquiries so if you know him please come forward.
“This was a completely unprovoked assault on a man who was at a bar with his girlfriend. He received serious injuries which may require lengthy treatment, in addition to the psychological impact that such a serious assault has. We will continue to support him as the investigation continues.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives @MerPolCC or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, with reference 23000234837.
