We are appealing for information following an assault in Gillmoss on Tuesday 28 February.
At around 11.30pm, patrols were called to the East Lancashire Road, near to Home Bargains, to reports of an assault.
Two males on electric bikes were reported to have approached the victim, a man in his 20s, and attacked him with batons. The victim sustained superficial injuries to his leg.
The suspects are described as white males aged 17-18 years of age and wearing face coverings.
Detective Inspector Alyson Keenan said: "This appears to have been an unprovoked attack and we are determined to find those responsible. We think that vehicles would have been passing by and potentially captured this incident.
"We are particularly keen to speak a number of drivers who may have witnessed and filmed this incident, as well as anyone else in the vicinity."
