A 16-year-old boy has been charged with Section 18 wounding following an incident in St Helens on Sunday 2 April.
At around 7.50pm, we received a report that a 15-year-old boy had sustained a slash wound to his face at the junction of Water Street and Westfield Street. He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injury.
The 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.
He will appear at Merseyside Youth reman Court this afternoon, Tuesday 4 April.
