Three people were arrested last night, Wednesday 1 March, following an attempted armed robbery in Islington.
At around 8.30pm officers were on high visibility foot patrol in the area when they heard a disturbance from a nearby premises on Kempston Street.
Enquiries were carried out inside the building which revealed that an attempted armed robbery had taken place.
An imitation firearm was recovered from the scene.
Two men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences.
A 48-year-old man from Anfield was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
A 40-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, both from Everton, were arrested on suspicion of robbery.
The three suspects are still in custody and being questioned by police.
