We are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision in New Brighton on Sunday 28 May.
At around 9.50pm it was reported that a grey Audi A1 and a white Fiat 500 had been involved in a collision on Coastal Drive.
There were seven people inside the two cars, who were all women, and they were all injured.
Three women, aged 18, 23 and 24, sustained serious injuries and remain in hospital in a stable condition.
The other four women, aged 22, 26, 22 and 18, sustained minor injuries.
One of the drivers, a 22-year-old woman from Upton, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs. She has been released under investigation.
We are appealing for anyone who has any information to come forward to help with the investigation.
Sergeant Simon Duffy from our Roads Policing Unit said: “This was a serious collision that has resulted in multiple casualties.
“We are still establishing the circumstances of what happened, so if anyone has information, please come forward.
“In particular, we are hoping to speak with members of the public who were at the scene to help in the immediate aftermath of the collision.
“Also, if you were travelling past the area at this time and captured the incident on dashcam, please let us know.”
