We have issued a CCTV image of a man who may have information that could assist enquiries following an assault at a bar in Liverpool City Centre.
Just after 11.50pm on Monday 8 March it was reported that a man was struck in the face with an unknown item by another man inside a bar on Victoria Street.
The victim sustained a deep cut to his face that required hospital treatment after the attack.
Since the assault extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted in the city centre, and detectives have issued a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak who could assist in their investigation.
Inspector Joanne Jacob said: “This was an unprovoked attack in our city centre that has left a man with a serious injury to his face.
“Everyone should be able go out and feel safe in our city without the fear of being attacked and we are working to find those responsible and bring them to justice.
“I am appealing to the man shown in this CCTV footage, or anyone who recognises him to come forward as we believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.
“Similarly, if you saw the assault or the victim involved in this incident on Monday night please contact police as soon as possible.
“If you have any photos on your mobile of the incident or CCTV footage from the night of Monday 8th March then do let us know as any information you hold could support our enquiries.”
