Two people arrested after man found with serious head injury in Heswall

We have arrested two people following an incident in Heswall yesterday (Sunday 14 May).

At around 8.45am, we received a report that a 41-year-old man had been found on Milner Road with a serious head injury.

Emergency services attended and he was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Following enquiries, we have arrested two men, aged 41 and 37, both from Heswall, on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent. They both remain in police custody.

We are in the early stages of an investigation and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this incident.

We are asking anyone who has information on this incident to get in touch. If you have captured CCTV footage showing anything suspicious from the Milner Road area or the wider Heswall area, please let us know.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Caton said: “Although we have made two arrests, we are still appealing for anyone with information to please come forward to assist us in this ongoing investigation.

“If you live on Milner Road and captured anything suspicious on CCTV or smart doorbell footage, then please get in touch. Also, if you live in the Heswall area and captured anything suspicious that you think could help our enquiries, let us know.”
