A driver has been taken to hospital following a collision involving a police vehicle in Huyton this morning, Sunday 19 November
Just before 7.35am, a marked police van, which was responding to an emergency, was travelling along Liverpool Road when it was involved in a collision with a blue Renault Kadjar at the junction with Blue Bell Lane.
The driver of the Renault, a man in his 50s, has been taken to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service for treatment where his condition is described as stable.
The police officers in the vehicle were assessed by paramedics at the scene.
Liverpool Road westbound was closed between Longview Lane and Blue Bell Lane, but has since re-opened.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who saw the collision, or who has dashcam footage of the collision, to come forward.
