We are appealing for information following theft at a distribution site in Knowsley on Thursday 19 October.
It was reported that just after 10pm, two men entered a depot called Venus 110 on Hornhouse Lane and stole a trailer which contained a large quantity of Castore sports clothing.
The trailer was hitched up onto a white HGV and was last seen leaving the depot at around 6am the next day, Friday 20 October, travelling towards Coopers Lane.
The empty container was found on Penketh Place in Skelmersdale on Thursday 26 October.
Detectives are appealing for information and are urging anyone who witnessed suspicious activity on the days in question to contact them.
Detective Inspector Richard Shillito said: “We are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone who has information on the theft to please contact us.
“We are also appealing for any motorists who were in the area at that time of the theft to please check to see if you have captured dashcam footage of the incident or a white HGV van in the area to please get in touch. This includes seeing the trailer being abandoned in Skelmersdale on October 26, as any information no matter how small may help with our investigation.
“Finally, I would urge anyone who may have knowledge of large quantities of Castore sports being offered for sale to please contact us.”
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook with reference 23001033861.
