We are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a car in Litherland last night, Thursday 23 November.
At around 5pm, it was reported that a woman aged in her 80s was involved in a collision with a white SEAT Leon car on Sefton Road, near its junction with Alexandra Mount.
The woman was taken to hospital and is currently in a critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and is assisting us with our ongoing inquiries into this incident.
We are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV, doorbell and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation.
Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson from the Serious Collision Unit said: “We continue to investigate the circumstances of this incident, which has sadly left an elderly woman in a critical condition in hospital.
"I am reaching out to the local community and would ask if you witnessed this incident or have any information, to please let us know. We also urge those who live in the area or were driving past to check your CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage as it may have captured the incident. Any information no matter how small could help the investigation.”
