Officers are appealing for people who witnessed a road traffic collision in Wavertree on Friday 3 November which has left a man in a critical condition to come forward.
At around 8.20pm, we received a report that a blue Polestar was involved in a collision with a cyclist at the junction of Tunnel Road and Wavertree Road, which was witnessed by a group of people standing outside the Durning Arms Public House.
Emergency services attended and the cyclist, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The driver stopped at the scene and is continuing to help police with their enquires.
Sergeant Phil Everett said: “Our investigations continue into this serious collision that has left a man in a critical condition with a serious head injury.
“We are appealing for the group of people who were outside the Durning Arms to please contact us as a matter of urgency so we can establish the circumstances of the collision.
“We would also urge any motorists who were in the area at that time to please check your dashcam footage to see if captured the incident which will help with the investigation.”
