Detectives are appealing for information following reports of a robbery in Liverpool which has left a boy with serious injuries.
At around 4pm yesterday (Sunday 26 November) we received a report of a robbery on Otterspool Promenade near Festival Gardens.
Two 15-year-old victims riding a Sur-ron E-bike were approached by five masked males who assaulted them and stole the electric bike.
One of the victim’s suffered significant injuries which required hospital treatment after the E-bike was forcibly taken from him.
An investigation is underway and police have issued an image of the stolen bicycle as they believe it could help with their enquiries.
Detectives are also continuing to examine CCTV footage in the area and take witness enquiries. Anyone who recognises the bike pictured, saw the incident yesterday afternoon, or has any information is asked to contact police.
Detective Inspector Michael Fletcher said: “This was a frightening attack on two young boys that has left one of them with several injuries after their bike was stolen.
“We simply will not stand by and allow people to harm and threaten the safety of others in our community.
“The bike is described as a purple, yellow and orange patterned Sur-ron E-bike and extensive enquiries are ongoing to locate this and the people responsible.
“If you were on Otterspool Promenade near Festival Gardens yesterday at around 4pm and saw this incident then please come forward. Similarly if you have seen the bike pictured recently in the area or for sale online please contact police.
“Please tell us what you know about this incident and we’ll take positive action to remove those who cause such violence in our communities from our streets.”
