Appeal following attempted burglary in Aigburth

Detectives are appealing for information following an attempted burglary in Aigburth last month.

At around 10.20pm on Thursday 7th September we received reports that four men had attempted to break into a house on Aigburth Hall Avenue, causing damage to the property.

The offenders made off in the direction of Aigburth Road when the house alarm was activated.

An investigation is underway, and officers are carrying out enquiries.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward along with CCTV and dashcam footage which may have captured the four suspects running along Aigburth Hall Avenue towards Aigburth Road.

Detective Sergeant Steve Byrom from the Burglary Team (Operation Castle) said: “Aigburth Road would have been busy at the time with motorists, and I would urge people who were in the area from 10.15pm onwards that evening and saw what happened to please contact us.

“I would also ask people who were in the area to check their dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage to see if they may have captured something which may be vital to the investigation.”

Detective Sergeant Byrom added: “We have a dedicated portal where people can send CCTV, smart doorbell or dashcam footage of suspicious activity in your area but don’t know if it is linked to a specific offence.
