Four Arrested and Scrambler Bikes and Weapons Seized in Huyton

Four people from Huyton have been arrested and scrambler bikes, drug paraphernalia and weapons seized by the EVOLVE Liverpool-Knowsley Disruption Team yesterday (Tuesday 10 October 2023).

Officers spotted a man acting suspiciously outside a property on Nyland Road in Huyton at around 5pm.

The 20-year-old was stopped, searched and subsequently arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a Class B drug.

Following a search of the property officers discovered evidence of drug supply, a knuckle duster and a lock-knife, and four scrambler bikes which are suspected to be stolen.

A man aged 51 and a 45-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs, possession of an offensive weapon in a private dwelling and theft of a motor vehicle.

During the arrest two officers were assaulted, sustaining minor injuries, and their police car was damaged.

A 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were also arrested for assault of an emergency worker, criminal damage to a motor vehicle and aggravated section 4a public order.

The four arrested were taken to a police station in Merseyside where they currently remain for questioning.

“Drugs and violence go hand in hand, and we are committed to taking individuals off our streets who are prepared to bring such misery to our streets.

“I would like to take this opportunity to highlight to the casual drug user that buying cannabis, cocaine or any other recreational drug is not harmless.

“Your recreational drug-taking is lining the pockets of those who are prepared to engage in serious violence to live a dangerous life of ill-gotten gain and I urge you to think twice about what you are facilitating.

"Support is available through Change Grow Live and the Combatting Drugs Partnership for those seeking treatment out of addiction.
