A man from St Helens has been charged with a drugs offence following an incident in St Helens on Monday 9 October.
Officers witnessed a suspected drugs deal in Victoria Park and following this a man was arrested on nearby Birch Avenue.
A subsequent search of a property discovered suspected cocaine, cash and weapons including a sword, machete and knuckle duster.
Gary Rigby, 57, of Princess Avenue, St Helens has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a private place and possession with intent to supply a controlled Class A drug (crack cocaine).
He appeared at Wirral Adult Remand Court on Tuesday 10 October and was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday 7 November.
